Backstory…

In late 1995, when I was living in Broward County, I drove to Publix’s Miami Division office and asked their Director of Data Processing if I could marry his daughter. Fortunately for me, he said yes, and so did she. In early 1996, I began what is now a 27-year marriage, as well as my career in the financial services industry.

I consider myself fortunate to have married into such a wonderful Publix family.

  • My father-in-law was a Publix associate for 34 years, the last 27 years at the Miami Division office.
  • My mother-in-law was active in the “Apples for Students“ computer program back in the 1990s.
  • In high school, my wife sat in Mr. George’s Miami office when he wasn’t there and counted coupons from the stores. That is probably why, to this day, she won’t count coupons.  😊
  • My brother-in-law and sister-in-law met while both were working at Publix in the 1990s, and they are still married today.
  • Their children, my niece and nephew, have also enjoyed the benefits of being Publix associates.

Over 75% of my clients are current or retired Publix associates. It has been a joy to serve them for over two decades.

Publix associates are everything I could ask for in clients… kind, friendly, respectful, and appreciative.

As you know, the Publix motto is “where shopping is a pleasure.“  Actually, the pleasure is all mine.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are you a fiduciary?

Yes. In addition, Ed Bamberg has earned the Accredited Investment Fiduciary® designation.

A fiduciary financial advisor is an investment professional who is licensed with the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) or state regulators. Fiduciary advisors are important for clients because they are legally required to put clients’ interests ahead of their own. Using a fiduciary is important if you want an advisor to manage your money or make unbiased investment recommendations.

Can your company hold Publix stock for me?

Yes.

If I retire before age 59 1/2, do I have to pay a 10% penalty to the IRS?

That depends. There are certain exceptions and distribution techniques provided by the IRS that will avoid the 10% penalty. We are happy to discuss these rules with you and help determine if they apply to your situation.

I would like to retire soon, but how do I know if I have enough money?

Our retirement planning process can help you determine if you are able to retire now, or if you need to wait a few more years.

Do you charge to prepare a retirement plan for me?

No. We use the retirement planning process to build a relationship with you. Through the process, you can determine if you like and trust us.

Then, when you need to make the biggest financial decision of your life, you already have a financial advisor that you know and trust.

Do you offer health insurance for when I am retired?

We do not. However, we have relationships with health insurance brokers who can find the best plan for you and your specific medical needs.

Do you have references from other Publix associates?

Yes. A list of references can be provided upon request.
